Hey Sailor: The Pelican Girls try on the latest Lilly Pulitzer looks

Date: 05/30/2012

Good morning Lilly Lovers! At The Pink Pelican, we've fallen in true summer lovin' with one of the latest Lilly Pulitzer prints: Hey Sailor. Today, one of The Pelican Girls shares summer's hottest Lilly looks and talks about fit. This Lilly Pulitzer Summer Collection is better than ever and we think you'll agree so come on, dive into summer style. The water is more than fine.

The Pelican Girls love the Lilly Pulitzer Treena Dress ($128): it's stylish, comfortable and easy care. What's better than that? Lauren did size down in this dress and at 5'8", it was still pretty long with flats. On Pinterest, we saw where someone had their Treena Dress shortened and turned into an infinity scarf: an idea we LOVE. Lauren also suggested taking the fabric remnant and making a sash to wear with the dress or with a pair of Callahan Shorts and a Cleo Top. Also: keep in mind this style is designed to shrink 18%. When washing my Lilly Pulitzer cotton, I always wash it on cold and lay it flat to dry but if you dry your Lilly, I wanted to share that tidbit.

Next up is the Lilly Pulitzer Colleen Romper ($158). Lauren said it's super comfy and fits really cute. On her, we thought it was a little bit short in the back. The leg opening is a little wider than expected but that just adds to the flirty fashion and easy styling. This style is selling fast.

The Lilly Pulitzer Kalen Dress ($168) is flowy, fabulous, fun and flattering. This style can be dressed up or down and take you from poolside to party. It fits true to size and we liked it with a belt. At The Pink Pelican, we paired it with the Goldie Belt but Sullivan Belts would be stylish as well. (These belts look great with the Treena Dress as well.)

Personally the Lilly Pulitzer Costa Tunic was a must-have for me; I scooped it up in Hey Sailor AND High Tide Toile. I've been wearing them with my Beach Pants.

Now The Pelican Girls want to know: what summer style are YOU diving into? How would you wear the above looks?
