The latest Lilly Pulitzer looks are at The Pink Pelican: see how they fit!
Date: 06/04/2012
Good morning Lilly Lovers! Lilly Pulitzer summer styles are heating up this Alabama summer and the latest looks are at The Pink Pelican! Today, the Pelican Girls try on a few of our faves. As always, we love to provide fit and styling info to our customers, especially our long-distance Lilly Lovers. Have a request for an item you'd like to see on? Want a fit description? Need suggestions for ways to wear it? Let us know! Our greatest goal is to help you look and feel your best!
Since I can't get enough of the Lilly Pulitzer Treena Dress ($128) OR the You Gotta Regatta print, I had Lauren try it on to show how it looks belted. Lauren showed it off in Hey Sailor when we did our Hey Sailor how it fits post. The Pelican Girls really like it belted and have shown it here with the Goldie Belt.
This does run long, Lauren is 5'8" , but if you have to have it hemmed a bit The Pelican Girls love the idea of having the remnant turned into an infinity scarf OR sash to wear with the dress or with solid shorts and Cleo Tops or Polos.
Speaking of Cleo Tops, here we've got Steph in the True Navy one. The Lilly Pulitzer Cleo Top ($68) is "tops" when it comes to summer's tops! It works well with Beach Pants, Lynnie Skirts,Callahan Shorts and Callie Skirts, and we LOVE the idea of the Shorely Blue Cleo with the Sailors Patch Marigold Skort. And, many Lilly Lovers were asking, it does come in Azalea Pink and can be pre-ordered on our website!
This top is flattering and feminine, the ruffle and the vneck are slimming and the ruffle adds a touch of fun without being overwhelming. You will need to wear a racerback bra with this tee.
(A note on the fit of the Beach Pants: the samples ran much larger than the actual product. These run more true to size if not slightly on the smaller size. For reference, I took a Large in the Biaocchi Pant but got an extra large in these as I wanted them comfy and flowy.)

By popular request, the Pelican Girls DO aim to please, we shared a picture of the Costa Tunic on Pelican Girl Darlene. The Lilly Pulitzer Costa Tunic ($88 in solid and $98 in print) is one of my favorite tops for the season PLUS it is a style that can be worn year-round--thanks to its sleeves. It fits similar to the Joycee Tunic but has the addition of some smocking under the best which gives it a little more flow over the hips and a very flattering styling.
(Also take note of Darlene's Palm Beach Sandals--we are all totally obsessed with them and I love her neutral pair with the white stitching and monogram!)
And good golly Miss Molly! Check out Lauren in the Lilly Pulitzer Molly Sweater Dress in Azalea Pink Harbor Crochet ($188). This dress fits extremely well and is not nearly as short as some of the other styles. Remember, Lauren is 5'8". It is a little heavier than we expected which actually is a positive meaning Molly can be worn now with sandals and wedges and through the fall with boots and a jacket.
The Pelican Girls just adore things that can be worn more than one season--don't you?
Okay Lilly Lovers, now it's YOUR turn to chime in! Which look is your favorite? How would you style them?
